Abstract

The article positions the recovery of solid urban waste from a systemic and integrative approach within the epistemological framework of urban sustainability. Its objective is to address the political, economic, social and ecological dimensions that constitute sustainability from different disciplinary perspectives from the methodological framework of complex systems. To this end, a proposal of a theoretical-methodological strategy of a systemic nature is presented. It articulates the political dimension from the perspective of political drivers in waste management and the framework of the Integrated Solid Waste Management, the economic dimension from the perspective of the Value Chain, the social dimension from the constructivist perspective under the framework of Socio-technical Analysis and the ecological dimension from the perspective of the Ecological Economy. The results shows in the first instance, the proposed articulation, and in the second instance, the contextualization in the Mar del Plata city.
