Abstract

Drawing on primary sources and a thorough re-reading of Russian, European and American historiography on Soviet architecture and urbanism of the Stalinist period, Elisabeth Essaïan analyzes in this book the complexity of influences, exchanges and tensions surrounding the formulation and implementation of the General Plan for the Reconstruction of Moscow (1935).
